Little Hanny doesn't like me. Here's the proof.
From the DMXS show last Weds. I only put this up here so that we can all share in the comedy of Josh Hansen.
And he's very wrong about me not writing anything good about him, when he podiums this weekend or very soon, I'll write good things about him. Here's what I wrote about him this past weekend:
“ I have no problem with Hansen, he’s a talented rider that needs to hit (moto-x) bottom before he comes back with a vengeance. Like I where I think Sean Hamblin is now and that’s why I’d hire him. I said it before, I predict Hanny will end up on Pro Circuit in a few years riding for no money and he’ll win. Stamp it.”
Yeah, looks like I’m some sort of soothsayer or something as Hanny debuted his Pro Circuit ride and showed some speed but had bad luck. Early on in the main he fell over while in second and then later on he had some sort of problem and stalled the bike. An eighth is the best he could do but better days lay ahead for Josh and his green rocket.
He did show speed, he did have some bad luck. I fail to see where I have it out for him like he claims. Not too mention last year I praised him in an "Observations" column when he rode great in a heat race coming from the back.
But there have been some negative things written about him by me. Let's recap the last couple of years for him and see what I could've wrote about him that was positive.
2008- Gets great ride at JGR Yamaha and qualifies for 7 out of 11 supercrosses before getting fired. Averages a 13th in the mains that he makes it in.
2009- Gets great ride with Hart & Huntington Honda and qualifies for 4 out of 7 supercrosses before quitting. Averages a 16th in the mains he makes it in.
There wasn't much there to write about. He got two great chances and he blew it with fighting in the pits, getting suspended, swearing on the podium or just riding shitty. What was I supposed to say about him? Let's not even talk about MXA, RXI and many others also being critical of him, yet they somehow escape his wrath.
He lost his rides, is broke, didn't have a dirt bike but yet somehow pulls it together enough to win the X-Games twice. He gets rewarded with a great opportunity on the PC team. But judging by the morning show clip and this DMXS sound byte, he still doesn't get it.
And I'm the douchebag?

I agree with that NAYCHIN 17, it's best to just stay away from
Goof's. Hanny's Dad is an arrogant ass (anybody who has attended his motocross schools can attest). It seems the apple
does not fall far from the tree. I know they have medications
for people with serious mood swings, with a touch of bi-polar.
A good old fashion beating might be in order, if you ever run into him down a dark hallway.
Very glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks very little of daykin17! "If I had a chin"!! Good one man!
I'm sure we can now expect him to run and hide(from experience)- he's all talk no balls!
Matthes, I would'nt worry about anything that idiot say's. For the life of me I can't believe Mitch even gave him a ride. Donny Hanson was a champ and a pro's pro, his son is embarassing. I know lot's of dickheads like that right here in Calgary that I used to ride with. They say shit that they have no idea what they are talking about. They spread lies, get all of their facts backwards, and talk out their asses. The best thing that you could do in these situation's is just don't associate with him what so ever. As time wear's on you'll realize that you did the right thing by ignoring him and his classless friends. It's what I did, and it was the smartest thing I've done in year's. Karma work's in mysterious way's I say. Hanson's a bozo [ J law also]. Keep up the good work.
I'm trying to imagine you with a personality...wont work but already visualizing the duck tape over your mouth.
Karma IS a wonderful thing. It shall bite you in the ass...and we all know it already has daykin17 hasn't it. Stop talking shit- you NEVER had any friends to let go of in the first place. Bi-polar idiot.
I love this "I hate daykin day"!
good point lol
Hanny is a punk so dont even pay attention to what he says.
Also, I would plead with you to keep the same level of professionalism in your podcasts that you have always done. Specifically in regards to the dropping of swear words such DMXS does.
I dont mind hearing the occasional "Shit", but when it gets more hardcore than that, it totally looses its dignity. Plus it makes it harder for my wife to listen (who is a die hard rider) and my younger kids.
Were trying to teach them to think and express themselves with more education then to succumb to an ignorant and vulgar manner of speech.
Thanks Steve-o! Great job!
I was actually rooting for him (JLaw) style for A1, thinking he may have turned a new leaf. But he seems to think he is impressing someone? with his too cool personna. His comments to the reporter in Phoenix, were some of the stupidest remarks, I have ever heard, a proffesional rider make.
Steve I would not worry about being pals with him just yet, as from his DMXS stint, he still has some major growing up to do. He has talent and may still do something, but he needs to work on being a bit humble and greatful, for yet again another chance.
I have always liked Jason Lawrence even with his shortcomings, He reminded me of a cocky (Confident) Bob Hannah,& Rollerball, in there hayday.
I like the respect he is showing, and hope he taps the true talent he does have. Hopefully he has a good trainer, that can help him mentally. (Nothing better for endurance & the mind, than pounding a pile of miles, on the road bike).
P.S. - Matthes, I sent you an email last week to your directmotocross email account?
Wow, he is definitely a big fan of yours. Knock your head off? come on, I think you'd thump him Steve.
This will be Hansens one and only year on the pro circuit team. Mitch will can his ass when he finishes 6th or 7th in the series.
It's ashame this plug is on Pro Circuit while there wasn't room for Ryan Morais.
How can Josh even say anything if he has not heard or read anything you wrote? Come on! The kid has a ton of talent no doubt but he has totally jacked up everything he has been given up to now. I think he will do well at some of the races for Mitch for sure. The problem is he is at least as likely to make a total ass of himself of national television as well. He just seems like a spoiled little punk to me.
Ha! You've been called worse by better! Oh, the joys of being a journalist. Once in a while rehash is a good thing--it let's you know you are doing your job right! Look at it as a performance review.
What we have here...is a failure to communicate!
Someone has to tell the kid that Matthes never 'dissed him in any way. The way I read it, Matthes really wanted to see the dude pull his head out of his ass...AND...I hope he has.
His "deal" is under PC's awning, but the way it was presented it is a Monster backed effort under Mitch's tent.
Payton will do his best to adjust the 100's attitude. I think the rest is up to the kid.
C'mon Hanney...do the podcast and air the dirty laundry.
You're gonna kick some ass this year. Get the media. Matthes is actually on your side.
Why do I address some of this as if Hansen was actually reading? - Because I hope he, or his "people" actually are.
